Royal Nepal Bistro Brings Nepalese Fare to Vienna

Nov.26, 2021

Royal Nepal Bistro only opened its doors recently, but the chefs in charge all have decades of experience crafting different types of cuisine. Owner Chef Subash is an expert in the art of Nepalese fare, in particular, and shares that craft with his executive chefs Tilak Gurung and Dhan Tamang.

Since the eatery debuted, its authentic Nepalese cuisine has been wowing one customer after another. Start by sharing a few small plates with your fellow diners, like the crispy veggie roll featuring seasonal produce or the Akabare pork belly, which is brined for 24 hours before it’s seared and served. Then choose a few different types of Nepalese street foods to sample, such as the skinny noodles with chicken, the quinoa bara embellished with Himalayan herbs and Nepalese chutney, and the bistro pho. For your entree, order something hot from the chulo, a traditional Nepalese wood-burning oven. Options include the shepherd’s cottage lamb seasoned with tropical spices, the pahadi chicken with cauliflower, and the nasi goreng, fried rice with a duck egg served sunny-side up and chicken satay.
