Don’t Miss the Educational Events at Walker Nature Center

Sep.21, 2021

The colder weather will be here before you know it. How are you making the most of the mild temperatures? One spot to visit this season and enjoy the great outdoors is Walker Nature Center. This local oasis in Reston spans 1,300 acres of lush green space, with trails, educational programming, and parking offered year-round—for free! The facility even offers scavenger hunts that allow for a little guided exploration to uncover more of what the area has to offer.

Recent events have included an outdoor concert, boat rental days on Lake Audubon, as well as Owl Prowl, featuring a wildlife rehabilitator who spoke about the local owl population and introduced the audience to some of his feathered friends. Want to get involved? Save the date for Walker Nature Center’s upcoming October events, which include a mushroom discovery walk and a Halloween event for kids.
